Simple Curb Appeal with New Outdoor Lighting

Okay, you guys, this project was on the "One day I'll get around to this" list, but I was laying in bed, putzing on my phone, and I happened to see this BRAND NEW Darby Home Dorchester Light Fixture for only $10 on Facebook Marketplace. Who can say no to saving $195?! As soon as I got up, I measured the size and messaged the seller. Out old outdoor light was fine. I guess. It was too small, not my style, and dated. Really, I wanted something pretty that would make a statement. If you're selecting a outdoor wall-mounted light fixture, pick one that is 1/3 to 1/4 of the size of your door. Yes, it will seem huge, but this is what will make your fixture pop, even from afar. Many houses I see have fixtures that look so tiny, and that is because people are trying to save money and don't measure properly. If you're not sure whether to replace a fixture yourself or hire a pro, Chelsea over at Two Twenty One goes through the general process here . When installin

How to Announce Your Pregnancy This Valentine's Day

It's not just love that's in the air this Valentine's Day. Women with due dates in August and September will be nearing their second trimester on February 14th. Whether you're one for grandiose gestures, or would prefer a sweet and simple surprise for close family, there's no doubt that using Valentine's Day to reveal your pregnancy will fill hearts with a little extra love.

Pregnancy reveals are a lot of fun. Some people get gifts for grandparents to be, while others go the photo shoot route. For us, I wanted something I could wrap up as a surprise for our parents, something that they wouldn't be expecting.

I didn't want a due date onesie, since I didn't think we'd ever use it, as cute as it may be. I like the bun in the oven idea, but I wasn't sure how I was going to sneak a bun into my parent's oven, as the kitchen is the hub of the house, and we have a big family.

When I realized I'd be revealing my surprise around Valentine's Day, I decided I wanted a V-Day themed something.

I ended up heading over to Target and purchasing a set of simple newborn onesies and socks.

Then, I found some cheap heart-shaped boxes and cute polka-dotted bags. I just needed to dress them up a bit.

That's when I realized, stuff them with pink crepe paper, add the baby gear, and you've got a pretty little gift set.

So, for Valentine's Day, our parents will be receiving these to open up. If you're looking for a Valentine's Day pregnancy reveal, this may be it. Just don't forget to film everyone's reactions, regardless of how you tell them!

I know my mom is going to be one of those screamers who can't even handle the news.
